New Charges and Tariffs Collectable on Services Rendered to Vessels Calling at Syrian Ports

Resolution No. 2596
The Prime Minister,
By virtue of the Legislative Decree 93 for the year 1974 on the formation of the Ministry of Transport,
And Decree 67 for 2002 on the Unified Operation System at Lattakia and Tartous Ports, Article 8 in particular,
And Decree 349 for 18/09/2003 on the formation of the Government in the Syrian Arab Republic,
And the suggestion made by the Administration Boards at Lattakia and Tartous Ports, in Lattakia Port's
session No. 8, dated 15/04/2004, and Tartous Port's session No. 5, dated 15/04/2004, And the suggestion made by the Minister of Transport in his letter No. 7206 dated 09/05/2004
Decides the following:
Article 1:
Dues on operations at Lattakia and Tartous ports, for various services rendered to vessels and
cargoes calling port, as final destination or in transit, shall be charged in lump sum payments
in accordance with Tables 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 included in this Resolution,
in accordance with the rules included in these Tables, in return for costs, charges
and dues incurred by services rendered.
Article 2:
The Administration Boards at both Ports have the right to increase or decrease charges and dues,
wholly or in part, with a maximum of twenty-five percent (25%) whenever deemed necessary.
Article 3:
All rules and regulations contradicting with this Resolution shall be abrogated.
Article 4:
The Minister of Transport shall issue the regulatory instructions for this Resolution.
Article 5:
This Resolution shall be published and considered in effect after ten days from publication.
